12 Artists and 18 Intellectuals from a Number of Asian Countries Gathered in Jimbaran Hijau

Jimbaran Hijau with its diversity of arts, culture and environment is a gathering place for 12 talented artists from 5 Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and the Philippines, as well as 18 International Intellectuals as Leaders-Mentors-Facilitators from Asia Pacific.

This activity is a special program that creates space for inspiration and the exchange of ideas initiated by Chan + Hori Contemporary, a Contemporary Art Curatorial Consultant in Singapore and held in collaboration with the Maybank Foundation. This series of activities was spread over 6 days by visiting several places around Bali, Indonesia.

In this series, visiting Jimbaran Hijau is included in one of the activity agendas in this program.

“Jimbaran Hijau is an area that has its own uniqueness, where a place can connect various creative activities and has a certain philosophy behind each area and its development that can inspire local and international creative actors, therefore we chose Jimbaran Hijau as one of the destinations for this program,” said Khai Hori as Partner & Director of Chan + Hori Contemporary, Singapore.

Putu Agung Prianta, as CEO of Jimbaran Hijau, who is also one of the mentors at the workshop in this program, warmly welcomed the participants by inviting the participants to tour the Jimbaran Hijau area and explain in a casual manner.

“Not only becoming a destination, Jimbaran Hijau has a vision, namely creating a destination, becoming a contemporary art destination, together with local and international creative actors, focusing on a green lifestyle, authentic but still innovative, creative and inclusive,” said Agung Prianta.

This visit to Jimbaran Hijau is a start to open doors and establish relationships between international artists , curators, and intellectuals with the aim of strengthening a new art ecosystem for Bali that contributes to protection and always being adaptive in cultural development, as well as concern for social dynamics.

“Cultural values ​​with current developments are something important, to create a new social ethos, because it will create a sense of trust within us as a nation that has a high and noble cultural wealth,” added Agung.
