Bali Mods May Day is an annual event held to commemorate International Workers’ Day, rooted in the history of Mods as a subculture of the working class. Aimed at honoring and celebrating this, Mods organize activities known as Mods Mayday. This subculture has become global, and even in Bali, young people have adopted the Mods culture. One such community is MAVE WEEKENDER. This year, MAVE Indonesia participated by organizing Mods May Day as a form of appreciation for the working class in Bali, specifically through Bali Mods Mayday, and joined the global celebration of Workers’ Day through music and scooters. This year, Jimbaran Hub had the honor of being the finish line for Bali Mods May Day 2024, creating an authentic Balinese atmosphere with hundreds of enthusiastic and united participants.
Visitors enjoyed the lush, green scenery and sustainability efforts combined with the unique Balinese elements at Jimbaran Hub. One visitor remarked, “Overall, I’m amazed when I arrived here (Jimbaran Hub). This feels like the original Bali, with a natural touch, a visible trend of sustainability, and a strong Balinese identity. It’s clean and cool.”
This year’s Bali Mods May Day felt more memorable and original. The event was enlivened by various musical performances, including The Jansen, NoinBullet, Ras Muhammad, Gold Voice, and many more. The presence of these musicians added to the excitement and joy of the event, making it an unforgettable celebration. Jimbaran Hub strongly supports community activities that foster relationships through shared hobbies and collections.
